Help beat Kenny

2021 was supposed to be the most amazing year in Kimberly's life, she had married her soulmate in September of 2020 and her and her new husband were wrapped up in planning their lives together.

Kimberly began experiencing some changes in her bowel habits and had a bit of a hard time convincing her doctors to perform a colonoscopy. After meeting with her amazing surgeon, he agreed to perform the surgery as a matter of urgency.
On Christmas eve 2021 Kimberly was prepped for surgery- expecting them to find only a stomach ulcer or something that was easy to manage. Instead they discovered something much worse. A ulcerated mass 13cm into her rectum; this was the cause of her changes in bowel habits and bleeding.
With it being Christmas time, it was quite difficult to come to terms with the uncertainty of what was happening where they go to from here, Kimberly's medical team wasted no time in organizing scans and more specialist appointments. On the 20th January 2022 Kimberly underwent yet another surgery to hopefully remove the mass- which we unaffectionately dubbed "Kenny". although it ended up far larger than originally expected leaving lasting pain and discomfort. Pathology revealed a BRAF mutation and she’s now in a fight to beat this very aggressive tumor.

Thankfully Kimberly has managed to secure a spot on a clinical trial to help beat this however the results from the clinical trial revealed that the tumor had already spread so it will be a year of very aggressive chemo

Kimberly been given a career break from work but returning to work is something far in the horizon at this stage and she’s currently on unpaid leave. Her husband has now become her carer and is needing significant time off work. So far the medical bills are in excess of 25 k before they even start.

Kimberly and Jay's dream of becoming parents to their own bundle of joy is something that they truly wish to achieve, last week Kimberly underwent egg retrieval, so that they can freeze her eggs to hopefully make their dream of becoming parents a reality after this nightmare is over.

Kimberly is the most selfless person anyone could ever hope to meet, she is always the first one there whenever anyone is in trouble or needs some help. Its now our turn to hopefully raise a little bit of money so that the financial burden isn't so tough on them.
