On Feb 21-25, I will be paddling in the Massive Murray Paddle – roughly 300kms in 5 days - to help raise money for The Florey Institute of Neuroscience and Mental Health – and to make sure that I earn your donation I am aiming to take on this challenge not in a Kayak, but on a Stand Up Paddle Board.
Having a very close friend diagnosed with young onset parkinson’s disease at just over 30 years of age and battling the condition for around 15 years, I am acutely aware of the impacts of this disease and the lack funding for research in this area. The Florey Institute is a foundation he has worked closely with in the past and is keen to help support their efforts in research for cures, treatment and better diagnosis.
So as I mentioned in return for your donation I will be aiming to paddle around 60km’s per day for 5 days, as the Massive Murray Paddle makes it’s way along the Murray River from Yarrawonga to Swan Hill. I would really appreciate any level of support that you can provide – and fingers crossed for kind weather conditions.
