Chicks with Attitude are paddling the Massive Murray Paddle. The Massive Murray Paddle is a 5 day paddling adventure race that covers 404km of the Murray River from Yarrawonga to Swan Hill.
Each team paddling the race also raise money for a community charity. This year the team has chosen Djirra.
Djirra is a place where culture is shared and celebrated, and where practical support is available to all Aboriginal women and particularly to Aboriginal people who are currently experiencing family violence or have in the past.
Djirra provides: • Legal services & support for women experiencing or have experienced family violence and need support. • Cultural and wellbeing workshops • Koori Women's Place, a unique cultural program offering a safe space for women to gather, participate in activities, share stories, or sometimes, just have brief respite from the immediate and pressing impacts of family violence.
Funds donated to the My Cause Gift Fund will be disbursed to Djirra. The trustees will always disburse funds to the nominated cause, however in the case that that is not possible, the funds will be disbursed to a DGR charity at the trustees discretion.
