Independent Calare Pty Ltd is collecting donations on behalf of Kate Hook, Independent for Calare.
I'm running as an independent in the next federal election because, after trying to influence our political leaders to act for decades, I've realised that our party politics is not fit for purpose.
We are simultaneously facing some of humanity's biggest challenges and greatest opportunities. For 20 years, I've been watching our political parties miss the opportunity to act.
We can't afford to wait any longer. We are now in the "critical decade" both to secure a safe climate for our children and to take advantage of a new and more prosperous economy with smarter, better jobs while ensuring that no one in our communities gets left behind.
If you've ever wondered, "what can I do about that?" here's your chance. Support an independent voice in Canberra for Calare.
Far from creating a "gridlock" or "holding the country to ransom," independents can give the government of the day, the backbone it needs to get important things done. Having more independents in the centre of parliament will oxygenate our stale, slow, out of touch political landscape.
Independents will be a breath of fresh air, with no undue influence from party factions, donors or lobbyists.
For the electorate, the fact that the government needs the support of independents puts us in a great negotiating position to deliver for our communities.
Calare has enjoyed being independent in the past. It's time to be independent again. The National Party has left farming and food production regions behind and this is not acceptable.
An incredible opportunity awaits Calare if we have the right leadership to make it happen. Of every federal electorate in Australia, we are set to benefit the most, economically, from the transition to clean energy and clean manufacturing (RE100, Australian National University.) This means wealth and prosperity for all of our towns and villages but this will not happen under the current policies of the National Party.
People are ready for change. Please help me make this happen!
Elections are expensive. I need to reach 118,000 voters in Calare to spread this message. Will you help me to do that?
Thanks so much,
Kate
