Friends of Huon Island are a small group of local community volunteers, working to regenerate and re-wild one tiny microcosm of Tasmania.
I grew up in southern Tasmania, regularly looking out across the water at the island that is the name-sake for the southernmost municipality in the country. I never actually set foot on the island. With its one lone little house, it always seemed just out of reach.
The story of the island and the group working to rejuvenate it (one of whom happens to be my mum) is better told by others, so listen to them, not me: https://vimeo.com/595205428
All money raised will go directly to the Friends of Huon Island community group to support them in their little mission to regenerate one little island.
Keep up the good work. Sending love from FNQ
