On December 4, Orange residents will vote for a new Council. Melanie McDonell is leading an Independent ticket for Orange City Council filled with fresh, vibrant individuals who want a healthy, sustainable future for every single resident of our fantastic city.
Running an independent election campaign to reach almost 30,000 voters is expensive, and we urgently need your help.
The uncertainty due to COVID-19 has meant we can’t use traditional fundraising events to fund our campaign. Instead, we must rely heavily on letter-boxing every home in the Orange LGA and increasing the usual level of advertising, so we can get the right information into the hands of you and your neighbours so that you know who and what you are voting for. Voting is your super-power!
Every single dollar is important and greatly appreciated. Advertising is expensive, however as the saying goes “what is any ocean but a multitude of drops?”.
Melanie McDonell and her team will work with Council staff and the Orange community to deliver: - Water security – now and into the future; - Connected communities – a footpath for every street in Orange; - Family-friendly, active communities – better playgrounds and play spaces throughout all of Orange; - Long-term, sustainable, strategic planning for Orange – 10, 20 & 30 years into the future; - Faster, evidence-based decision making in Council; - Support for local businesses – they are the backbone of our local economy; - Housing availability and affordability – we must look after those who are most vulnerable in our city.
The McDonell Team will consistently advocate for open communication between Council and the community.
Melanie McDonell is your voice for a diverse and representative Council.

Political Donation Restrictions The NSW Government sets out a number of prohibitions about who can donate to an election campaign. If you belong to any of the following groups below, you CANNOT donate to a campaign:
- a property developer (including anyone becoming a property developer within 12 months); - a tobacco industry business entity; - a liquor or gambling industry business entity; - a close associate of any of the above and/or any industry representative organisation if the majority of its members are those listed above.
Good luck!
