This year's International Literacy Day celebration shines a light on the need to bridge the digital divide. Sadly, children from families with limited access to books, technology, and the internet have been the most affected by this pandemic.
Funds raised will be used to fund literacy projects around the world. This includes providing students in underdeveloped countries in Africa with Sun Books Tablets, where teachers can hold reading sessions to support student learning at home. These Sun Books are solar-powered tablets that have learning content developed by the World Literacy Foundation and leaders of African communities.
This may not be an obvious effect of COVID-19, but students around the world do not receive an education during this time and they need YOUR support.
Thank you all so much for helping these children to receive the education they deserve. Thank you for putting smiles on their faces. They greatly appreciate your support and kind donations. You can continue to support these children by sharing this page with others so they can also donate to this worthy cause.
The World Literacy Foundation is a global not-for-profit organisation working to lift young people out of poverty through the power of literacy. We believe that every child should be able to read and write so they can enjoy lifelong learning and empowerment.
