My name is Sunita (Bindoo). I am raising fund for the treatment of Nagendra Kumar, who is suffering from stage 4 colorectal cancer (CRC) with Liver Metastases and is undergoing treatment at Manipal Hospital, Bangalore, India.
I haven’t got chance to meet him yet, but I hope that I get to do that someday. He is the world for my beloved Anita Didi and his two kids. I know Anita didi since my teenage and our families are close.
They need a big amount and FAST for treatment to happen in time. Needless to say, that for anyone to be in these circumstances is to live their the worst fear. I request anyone reading this, please help me uphold the hope for these sinking hearts and contribute however much you can. I sincerely thank you for your time, thoughtfulness and compassion.
Message from his brother Nagen:
My name is Nagen and I am raising funds for my brother Nagendra Kumar, who is suffering from 4th stage colorectal cancer (CRC) with Liver Metastases and is undergoing treatment at Manipal Hospital, Bangalore.
My brother was unexpectedly diagnosed with severe 3rd stage cancer in May 2020 despite having done everything possible to remain healthy. The doctor suggested for a major operation to remove the entire rectum and connect a stoma bag for stool passing. I had never seen my brother so helpless in my life fighting even to gulp a drop of water.
In November 2020, doctors removed the complete rectum and attached stoma to his stomach
The doctors told us that he didn't have much time left but despite everything, we chose to fight it out no matter what it took. My brother took 28 chemotherapies and over 38 radiations which had extremely painful side effects and cost us all of our savings, around Rs. 36 lakhs in total. After this, we couldn't afford to continue the treatment at all and thus despite the initial improvement, the cancer relapsed and continued to grow more and more severe.
One Nivolumab 100 mg injection is for Rs 99,500
Currently, he needs to go through immunotherapy where one dose of 240 mg costs us 2 lakhs and 60 thousand every 15 days which will continue for days with multiple chemotherapies and target therapies urgently in order to have a chance at life.
My bother is the sole breadwinner of his family of 4. Since his treatment started, he hasn’t been in a condition to work. He works in a private firm. We are already under major loans due to the treatment so far, which we are unable to repay.
The total estimated amount required is Rs. 80 lakhs to pay for all the medical expenses. As the amount required is huge, I request you to kindly contribute towards the treatment and help me save my brother's life.
The past 1 and half years and the cancer relapse has been an enormous burden on my family, financially and mentally and I can't bear to think of losing my brother to this deadly disease only because we are unable to fund his treatment.
He is the kindest man with the biggest heart and I have seen him selflessly help everyone he can throughout my life. Despite all the challenges he has faced, he has been our family’s pillar of strength after my father's demise in December 2018. I implore you to help us in this battle by donating however much as you can. Without these two treatments, there is no hope for his survival and recovery. No amount is less for us in this time of crisis.
We would be forever thankful if you could share this page with your friends and family.
We are so grateful for your help and prayers.
Thank you
Additional Note: To keep things transparent, Nagen has also created a fundraiser, but that page doesn’t support contributions from other than Indian nationals and has some other logistic issues. Hence, with the family’s approval, I have created this separate fundraiser to be able to receive help from more people and without much hassle.
