In January 2015 Nathan was an active member of Greater Western Sydney Region and Venturer Scout Leader with 1st Springwood Unit. His world changed on the 30th January when he suffered a massive brain aneurism. In hospital for 14 months, and his rehabilitation progress continues today defying all expectations. Nathan's strong will and determination to recover has never wavered. His passion for scouting continues: he has since joined the Blue Mountains Fellowship and has recently attended the 43rd GWS Jamborette.
His latest personal challenge is to take part in the Blackmores Sydney Family Fun Run on Sunday the 19th September 2021: 3.5km from Milsons Point to the Conservatorium of Music. Nathan will endeavour to push himself in his wheelchair and walk short distances across the Sydney Harbour Bridge with the help of his Exercise Physiologist and family. Nathan would like to take this opportunity to raise funds for a ramp for the 1st Springwood Scout Hall. This will make the back yard wheelchair accessible so that he and all scouting personnel can continue to enjoy scouting activities in the mountains. Please support Nathan in his endeavour. Thank you in advance
All the best with the walk Nathan
