Gentle giant Totoro has been diagnosed with diabetes after worsening health issues.
He is currently hospitalized to get him in a stable state as he is very unwell and the vets are working on finding what insulin dosage is best for him. Once he is home I'll be required to give him insulin injections every 12 hours and monitor his glucose and general symptoms (I'm glad I have a health science degree - who knew it would come in handy for my cats!)
The vets is costing over $2200 (updated cost) and then we will need glucose monitors, vet prescribed diabetic food, insulin, tools for the medications, cost of follow-up appointments etc. this is an expensive process but I'm willing to do anything for my boy and truly believe animal health is just as important as human health.
Any help, even just kind words is much appreciated!
I hope this helps! Thinking of you and staying hopeful for Totoro <3
