I have been speaking with Sarah over the last few weeks trying to find out how best we can support Sar and the family over the next little while.
Like many of you, I have been so moved by Sarah’s circumstances and her unbelievable resilience living with this “crazy, weird and unpredictable cancer” (Sarah's words). The challenges thrown up each day are never-ending and hard to begin to comprehend.
Sarah’s divine “Mum Friends” have set up a meal train which so far has been incredible (details below). The family is remarkably sorted however where Sarah and Dan would really love some help is some ongoing support around the house (including kids lunches).
For those who don’t live locally and/or would love to support Sarah in some way, please feel free to make a contribution here. Any funds raised will go towards supporting the family where the need is greatest - whether that’s outsourcing school lunches each day for Alice, Jack and Eliza, an Au Pair, cleaning vouchers or help for Sarah herself.
I have had the privilege of knowing Sarah since Grade 2. We navigated primary and secondary school together, worked together and have shared many laughs and adventures. She is without doubt one of THE kindest and most compassionate human beings I have ever met. She always put others before herself and continues to do so even now. Sarah is a true carer. As such, it feels only fitting that we join together to do what we can to in turn, care for the carer.

Dear family and friends. Thank you so much for your support in recent days, and for the stunningly beautiful and moving tributes to our beloved Sarah.
Collectively it is such a valuable legacy to her, a true testimony to the numerous beautiful qualities that we all cherished and loved in her. It will be such a valued family treasure.
A funeral day and time has been arranged for Monday the 23rd of August at 2.30 pm (Australian Eastern Standard Time).
Due to Covid restrictions, physical attendance will need to be restricted to close family members, but the service will be streamed live on the following link.

For the best experience, the funeral directors recommend clicking on the camera icon, to bring up different camera options as well as a slideshow photo tribute.
For those who can’t join live at the time, the service will be recorded and be available for viewing from the same link, for several months following the service. And we will always retain a permanent recording.
Also, we’ve been advised that, in the rare event that the live link does drop out, then try to reconnect to re-establish a live link. Failing that, the service recording can be played following the funeral.
Please share this link and details with others who may like to view the service, especially the non-Facebook users amongst us.
Beyond the funeral, Sarah also wanted (in her words) “ … a MASSIVE party afterwards if the coronavirus crap has gone and you are able to do this! I want everyone to be laughing and happy on really good drinks and food, and just have a great time with good dance-y music”.
This may need to wait until restrictions ease, but we’re determined to make it happen!
Note also we are preparing a permanent online memorial tribute page to Sarah, where we encourage contributions from all those who knew her well – such as memories, stories and photos of Sarah you would like to share. I’ll share this link to this in the next few days.
This page will also contain links to charities that Sarah requested donations be made to, in lieu of things like flowers or gifts at a funeral. These are the amazingly generous charities that offered such amazing support for her, and us, during her cancer battle and especially in her final months. There’s that beautiful caring and selfless spirit shining through again!

Dear friends.
Our beautiful Sarah passed away peacefully last night, after fighting such a brave battle against cancer.
She was always thinking of others, right to the end, and wanted me to send this message so everyone important to her knows.
After fighting pain for so long, she is at peace now.
I’m sure her life was much richer from having known you. So thank you.
Her legacy will continue to live strong through us, through you, and especially through the amazingly resilient Alice, Eliza and Jack.

Hi there,
I hope you’ve had a great weekend. The Terrills have passed on their thanks and upmost gratitude. The support and love received has been so overwhelming.
Alice, Jack and Eliza are thrilled to be back at school again and Sarah is home. The meal trains are working really well and thanks to your support, Sarah is receiving regular home care and being kept as comfortable as possible. The sunshine is helping.

A quick note to say thank you very much for your incredible generosity and support of the Terrill Family.
Sarah and Dan are overwhelmed with the love and kindness received from extended family and friends.
We are so close to reaching our target of $10,000 which is being put to good use helping Sarah be as comfortable as possible at home.

An update from Dan: “We’re excited to be getting Sarah home on Wednesday.
With Saz coming home, it really will be a great help in modifying the home to suit her changing health, bringing in some of the services that will make her safe and comfortable, and allow her to stay at home for as long as possible in our home. All such incredibly valuable things for her, and the family.
We’re blown away by the support already on the page.
