I believe adversity over the course of a person’s life allows them to grow into becoming more knowledgeable, wise, confident, and informed. There are many evils in this world that some children and adolescents are exposed to that it is far beyond a learning opportunity. Unfortunately, personal growth seldomly exists under these extreme circumstances. Often resulting in psychosocial and emotional issues. A knock-on effect is learning difficulties, decreased belongingness; acceptance; societal trust; quality of life, problematic behaviour, self-harm and suicide. If whatever money can be raised by me shaving my head can go towards protecting at least 1 young person from the unfathomable, this will mean the world to me.
