For my 10th birthday I'm raising funds to support vulnerable women and children in our community who have been impacted by domestic and family violence. Funds raised will support Illawarra Women's Health Centre (IWHC) a local community based organisation who for more than 35 years have provided a safe place for women and children to access specialised and trauma informed medical, health care and wellbeing services. In the last year, the IWHC has seen it's waiting list increase from two weeks to four months and the number of women seeking help from the service has risen by between 40 and 50 per cent. Illawarra Women's Health Centre are also leading the way and advocating to establish Australia's first Trauma Recovery Centre which will be an integrated, comprehensive, long-term treatment service to enable women and their children to recover from the impacts of violence. Your donation will support the vital work of this incredible community organisation on the frontlines of domestic violence.
