In January, our family received the news no one ever wants or expects to hear. Dads diagnosis of an aggressive form of brain cancer not only left our family devastated, but left us scrambling to work out the logistics of ensuring Dad was able to attend treatment 5 days a week, travelling a total of 276km a day, in Canberra. While we’ve have received so much support from our family and friends, we would not have managed to do this without the support of Flexible Care Harden’s community transport. In regional communities, where access to medical treatment is far from seamless, these services are vital and keep the local community thriving. So in honour of Go Grey in May for Brain Cancer awareness, I’m pledging to donate $30 from all photography sessions to Harden’s Flexible Care Service to express my deepest gratitude and acknowledge the importance of the services they provide to patients and their families in their hour of need. I would like to invite you to join me in supporting a service that truly goes above and beyond for the local community. Without their service, we would have struggled to give Dad what we truly needed and wanted throughout this process; to return to the comfort of his home in Harden each day, with his beloved animals and mum.
