About
For 25 years the Peter Newman Foundation has supported Indigenous communities in Central America and Australia. With the death of Pete's father Archdeacon Philip Newman, there is an opportunity to support this on-going work for a cause Philip was passionate about. Money raised will go to fund social and economic development projects in remote South Australian Aboriginal communities. Philip's father Captain Jack Newman was the Superintendent of Woomera (SA) throughout the 1950s and even in that difficult time, engaged closely with the local Kokatha Aboriginal community. These projects will provide much needed support for these communities as part of a legacy of three generations of the Newmans.
Providing ongoing funding for aid organisations, focusing on projects that assist indigenous people in preserving their culture, and engaging with modern society, without losing their unique heritage both in Australia and globally.
