Just over two years ago I was out for dinner with my son Roarke and daughter Lila, when Lila collapsed to the floor and had a series of massive seizures. It was the worst meal of my life.
It’s completely changed our family’s life, as we grapple with what her life-changing diagnosis means.
So, I’ve recently finished a TEDe Talk that Lila, Roarke, Sheridan, and I hope will raise awareness of how common epilepsy is, and raise much-needed funds for the amazing people at Epilepsy Action Australia.
Lila is one of 250,000 Australians with epilepsy.
That means 1% of our country has this disorder.
1 in 10 Aussies will have a seizure in their life.
And 300 people a year die from their epilepsy.
Epilepsy Action Australia has provided us with so much support, but last year their annual fundraiser Purple Day was cancelled by COVID.
So, I want the country to open their hearts and make a tax-deductible donation and SHARE IN THE BEAR.
