My name is Yiani and I would like to raise money for a charity that is dear to my heart. My mother was diagnosed with aggressive grade III breast cancer (PR+ ER+ Her2+) 12 years ago. When she started losing hair, I told her I would grow my hair so she could live vicariously through it. My dear mum was discharged in February 2020 and final treatment ceased on the 17th December 2020. Now that the journey has finished, there is no longer a need for my long locks. This provides an opportunity to raise funds for cancer research. It is now time to part ways with an old memory.
The National Breast Cancer Foundation (NBCF) is the only national body that funds life-changing breast cancer research with money raised entirely by the Australian public.
Research is the only way to prevent deaths and improve how breast cancer is diagnosed, managed and treated.

Good on you Yiani, but it's going to take some getting used to seeing you without your signature locks x
