My name is Shane Stiles and I attempted my first SOLO crossing to Rottnest in Feb 2021. Rotto is over, the event didn't have Zeus and Poseidon on its side, 'can't control the uncontrollable'. My journey continues in the SOLO crossing in the 'Port to Pub' same destination, just start from a different beach to continue to raise funds and awareness for rare cancer, Sarcoma (Sock it to Sarcoma Foundation). I was diagnosed in September 2019 after waking up with a swollen right leg - no lump, no pain, just swelling. I was lucky. I went straight to the emergency where it was checked, referred, diagnosed, and removed. As a result of this action, I'm more fortunate than many others and my life journey continues. I might not have my full right quad, but I am so appreciative of and humbled by the life I am still able to lead. I will never be able to repay all those who supported me along the way but it is time to give back and to help others facing a similar diagnosis and journey through a local charity 'Sock it to Sarcoma'. The big day for 'Port to Pub' is Saturday, March 20th, 2021 for the 19.7km swim. Please show your support by sharing this with all your friends and remember every donation no matter how big or small is appreciated.
We fund research into sarcoma, a rare and aggressive group of primary bone & soft tissue tumours; provide better understanding for sarcoma patients through community awareness and support gold standard holistic clinical care for sarcoma patients.

Swimming for a great cause, I also have a depleted quad due to sarcoma and this is a great charity offering support to people at a really difficult time. Hope it goes well
