Hey everyone! I am kickstarting the New Year, by setting myself a challenge to help raise funds for The Kutamani Foundation. I am going to run 100Kms in 20 days and I am kindly asking for your support, to sponsor me in reaching my goal!

The Kutamani Foundation is a grassroots organisation that is working to open a pre-primary school, which will provide free education to children in the Kilimanjaro region of Tanzania. Due to COVID-19, the number of children out of school worldwide has risen from 270 million to 1.7 billion! 50% of which, are located in sub-Saharan Africa. For these children, not only do they miss out on an education, many now go without their only daily meal which is provided through school, and their chance at a future is halted.

In addition to operating a pre-primary school, the foundation is also developing a teacher outreach initiative, which is designed to support and upskill the 60% of unqualified teachers working in grassroots schools across Tanzania. The foundation is working alongside 4 qualified educators here in Australia, to develop a 'professional development' program, which is centered around the Tanzanian curriculum. The program will be delivered to unqualified Tanzanian Teachers working in grassroots schools and is designed to have a broader impact, as quality education is key for good development. Upon completion of the initial course, any teacher which undertakes the program, will receive continuous support and access to teaching and learning resources through a designated support center in Moshi, Tanzania, along with regular collaborative sessions, etc.

The foundation plans on running both programs through the one facility, so both the teachers and students can benefit, as teachers completing the 'professional development' program will be able to see the theory in practice, through The Kutamani Foundation pre-primary school. In order for The Kutamani Foundation to run both programs for the duration of one year, they have a small fundraising goal of only $15,000!

By giving this small group of children and education, you will be allowing young females to have equality, you're allowing these children to go on and build careers, and you are allowing these children to live healthy lives and build healthy lives for their future families, which will otherwise not be possible.
