I am getting close to being one year older, thanks to my cancer treatment, however not everyone is so fortunate! Last year this time, I had just finished my cancer treatment. This year, I have decided to help the ones in need. I was diagnosed with breast cancer at the age of 29. Getting diagnosed with cancer is scary and frustrating, especially if you are at your heyday. I could overcome it with the support and help of my wonderful family and friends, however, not everyone is as lucky! Cancer is not only scary but also extremely expensive! So many young people are diagnosed with cancer everyday, but if they receive proper treatment, their chances of survival would be really high. The cost of cancer treatment in Iran is huge and there is small or no government funding allocated to that. I have recently started cooperating voluntarily with an NGO organisation in Iran called " Mohammad Hossein Razavi Charity Institute". It is the only NGO focusing professionally on young cancer patients (16-30 years old) and has been supporting them since 2017. They help young cancer patients not only with treatment costs but also they organise a lot of motivational events for them and support them both emotionally and financially. Now, they are planning to become part of something bigger – a worldwide movement with the goal of eliminating preventable cancer deaths and providing access to life-saving treatment and care to every adolescent, everywhere. In this path, they are supposed to become a member of the renowned cancer network of UICC with over 1200 members from 170 countries. If they can join this organisation, they will have access to lots of international support. The membership cost would be 1’500 CHF. Now, if we could help them reach this goal, it would make a huge difference for young people with cancer in Iran. Together we can make big changes. Thank you so much for supporting me in "mycause", it means a lot to me and them!
