Murdering Creek Monument

Beulah Community's campaign, Lest we forget Murdering Creek, launched in Naidoc 2020, aims at raising awareness of the history of the dispossession of the local First People. We are raising funds for a memorial and signage at the site of the Murdering Creek massacre which is at present unmarked. The memorial will honor the memory of the First People who died there. It will increase the general public's awareness of the local history. The project has the support of the Native Title claimants. It is part of an ongoing process of collaborating with the local Traditional Owners to tell the truth about the past which is a necessary step towards reconciliation and healing of the land.
