We are raising money for the Westerman Jilya Institute for Indigenous Mental Health (www.thejilyainstitute.com.au) in honour of the memory of Madeline Dell.
We lost our darling Madeline suddenly on 23 September. To honour her memory, we would like to raise funds for a cause she cared about deeply. After careful thought, we have chosen the Westerman Jilya Institute for Indigenous Mental Health. Jilya aims to drive best practice across the complex areas of Indigenous suicide prevention, trauma, criminogenics and mental health. Jilya is an Aboriginal Community Controlled Organisation through the Office of the Registrar of Indigenous Corporations (ORIC) and is a registered Charity under the ACNC (Registration Number ICN 9173).
A big part of the Jilya Institute is to increase the number of Indigenous psychologists into the highest risk Indigenous communities. All funds will be deposited into the account of Madeline's mum, Karen Dell, and a single donation will be made to Jilya in her honour and memory. We are hoping to raise $11,500, which will support an Indigenous Psychology Scholarship in Madeline's name.
If you or someone you know needs support, contact Lifeline on 13 11 14 or visit https://www.lifeline.org.au/get-help/.
**UPDATE** We have raised enough to fund a scholarship in just a few hours, so we have increased the goal to try to fund two. Thank you so much for your generosity and your kind donations.
