Over 200 people have died, 5,000 seek medical attention and 300,000 became homeless. 

• 3 hospitals taken out of service due to the severity of the damage, including St George Hospital - the largest in the vicinity

• At least 5 nurses lost their lives

• A further 2 hospitals were damaged but remain partly operational

Our hearts and prayers go out to everyone impacted by this tragedy, and the Australian Arab Business Council is committed to taking immediate action to help the grieving people in dire need of our assistance.

The Lebanese Health Ministry has sent us a list of needed emergency items and we will be raising money to purchase these items to deliver directly to them. These items include surgical and medical kits, ICU beds, medication, trauma burn kits, ventilators, stretchers and wheelchairs to name a few.

We will also be working frantically in many other areas, including government lobbying to gain further assistance and donations.
