Tip Jar Update #3 Massive thank yous to every legend who bought a Virtual Pub Shirt and to Smash for making this happen. 700 DOLLARY-DOOS was raised in shirt sales. The absolute legends at Killer Merch who printed these beauties have kicked in an additional $300, bringing the total donation from VP shirts to $1000. I've linked their website below, have a squiz at some of their merch, and get behind these champions! With the pubs re-opening this week and everyone getting on the beers, I am thinking we run this tip jar for one more month. The venues are still at very limited capacities, so make sure you make your bookings via their respective websites and treat the venues and staff with respect when visiting these establishments! Your tips have helped these guys keep their heads above water across the past 6 months. We have all been to hell and back, however, we are not out of the woods just yet. Much love & stay safe. (i can't stand that song) So, donations have just crept past the halfway mark of our goal and I really wanted to send out a MASSIVE THANK YOU to everyone that has chucked this a share or thrown some spare change in the jar. Our collective effort to help The Bergy Seltzer, Whole Lotta Love, and The Last Chance Rock & Roll survive lockdown have been hitting the venue's pockets monthly and they all have expressed their gratitude for your generosity! A quick update and MASSIVE THANK YOU!!!! While the muso’s are adjusting to a life without any foreseeable gigs and the punters adapt to isolation and online content, our thoughts are with the empty venues doing everything within their power to stay afloat. The Last Chance Rock & Roll bar, The Bergy Seltzer, and Whole Lotta Love are well-loved gems of Melbourne’s underground live music scene. These venues are not only institutions for Australia’s upcoming artists, musicians, and creatives but also a home, fostering a culture of unity and acceptance within our community. While we all face individual challenges and grapple with the restrictions of COVID 19 life, I am personally distressed at the possibility of these venues closing down, and there being no venues when we can return to the new normal. With that in mind, the Virtual tip jar was born! We launched Wednesday evening to raise funds and relief for these much-loved venues that have helped foster our scene over the years. I have been absolutely blown away at the response this has had, having raised almost a third of our goal in less than a week!!! A massive thank you for each and every one of you who have generously donated!!! YOU ARE AMAZING!!
