Business Chicks, got $25? Let's get this vital service a van

We know you're a generous bunch, but we want you to give any amount up to $25. No more (even if you do have the means to do so.) This is about us doing this together!

Each week we’re handing over our Instagram platform to different women in the Business Chicks community. Last week it was Dixie Crawford’s turn and as part of her takeover she did a live interview with Ashlee Donohue who works with Mudgin-gal, an Aboriginal organisation delivering support, referrals and community-based services to Aboriginal women and families in inner city Sydney.

During the chat, Dix asked Ashlee how the Business Chicks community could help Mudgin-gal – what do they need and how can we best serve? Ashlee said they needed a van, so right then and there we committed to making this happen for them. And we’d love you to help too!

Mudgin-gal means ‘Women’s Place’ and aims to build the capability of Aboriginal women and families through the delivery of skills-based programs, whilst also providing a safe space for vulnerable women. Ashlee and the team need a van so they can pick up mothers and their kids who have no way of getting to the centre to access their important services.

Mudgin-gal have been around for 28 years, but are still a grass roots community organisation who never forget who they’re advocating for. A van is not a big ask, but would be a big deal for Mudgin-gal and the work they do. So how are we going to do this?? Stealing from the simple yet brilliant philosophy of US organisation Together Rising, we want you to give any amount up to $25. No more (even if you do have the means to do so.) What matters more is the act of giving, and not the amount. For some of you, $25 will be a stretch and for others it’s more about pausing for a moment and spending two minutes doing your donation. Business Chicks has already given $5,000 to get us going and with your love and help, we know we can get this goal kicked in five minutes flat.
