Hi, I'm Troy Johnson, ME/CFS Australia's Treasurer. I am also a Partner at Hartmann Cox Accountants in Brisbane. For a number of years I have been responsible for ME/CFS Australia's accounts and reporting requirements.
With the end of the financial year arriving on June 30, I am asking for your help in promoting our fundraiser to your family and friends. Aside from assisting ME/CFS Australia, our donors will receive the benefit of a tax deduction for their donations.
ME/CFS Australia is the peak body serving an estimated 250,000 people who live with Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, a complex and debilitating neuroimmune condition. Our board, volunteers, and member organisations constantly work for those who have the condition, their families and carers, through advocacy, information, support and involvement in research.
As a volunteer organisation with no government funding, we rely on donations for running costs and to fund our projects.
Being a national peak organisation, money is also used to support projects that are run by our member organisations. In the past we have funded:
Emerge to develop the ThinkGP online GP training module.
Bridges & Pathways for Peer Leader Training.
ME/CFS and Lyme Association of WA for initial development of the national May12th International ME/CFS Awareness Day website.
I hope you will encourage people to donate.
With thanks,
Troy.
