After posting a video of Hajj Mohamed ARJA on our @AAUBURN_2144 Snapchat account we’ve had an influx of people asking us to start a fundraiser. WE MUST STATE - the family has not asked us to do this. This fundraiser was created because a lot of people would love to send Hajj some money to spend as he pleases however he likes because the video bought a lot of us to tears. The community wants to give back to a humble, caring, loving and hard working man. I can confidently say that we have never had this many inboxes (most weren’t uploaded) about a man who’s touched so many lives. Lets surprise this husband, father, grandfather and amazing MAN with a nice deposit into his bank account inshallah. UPDATE I RECEIVED WHILE CREATING THIS FUNDRAISER: Salam. How are you? My name is Rawah and I created the video about my dad Hajj Mohamed Arja. I want to start off by thanking you and everyone who supported the video, which has reached over 200K on my TikTok account. It has been overwhelming in the best of ways to say the least. I understand that people wanted to make a Fundraising Page for my father which has really touched my family’s heart. There are no words to describe our gratitude ? While it is so thoughtful, we can’t accept that money knowing there are people doing it much tougher than my family. Usually this time of the year, my father collects money for food parcels, literally by knocking on doors of those he knows, for the poor and vulnerable as he has his own little charity. This year he hasn’t been able to do that due to social distancing and limitations with the law which I know he was really upset about. Over 200 families in Lebanon depend on these donations. Only if people are willing and are OK with this, can the Fundraising Page still exist, however all 100% of money donated will go to struggling families in Lebanon. Especially with the month of Ramadan approaching and the current crisis the people are facing. He honestly has no idea that this is even happening and would love to surprise him by telling him that those families can be fed and taken care of after all. Allah SWT works in mysterious ways and I truly believe this video went viral because these families still need our help. 2nd update: My dad sends his thanks to all involved and really appreciates the support. He wants to stress that the money will go 100% to charity and help those in need in Lebanon. He wants to assure people that while their generosity is much appreciated, please spend on their own families first. If people are able and this does not affect their own family, then donating would mean the world to those vulnerable families struggling. He’s been helping many families for over 30 years and appreciates all the support. Thank you from the Arja family
