Operation Thank You: FrontLine Meals

Help us say 'thank you' to the frontine by providing them free, nutritious meals AND keep the hospitality industry going during the COVID-19 pandemic by creating work for them.

Doctors, nurses, health care workers, police and ambos are working incredibly hard to keep us alive and safe. In doing so, they are risking infection every day and being isolated from their families. This will continue for months and during this sustained period they will need good food.

The goal of this initiative is to show our gratitude by feeding our frontline workers dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic while supporting Melbourne’s hospitality industry, who will provide meals paid for by the community.

We have connected with some leading hospitality businesses - cafes, restaurants, and catering businesses - that have put together delicious and nourishing menus to be delivered to our Melbourne frontline.

Our first stop is the Northern Hospital in Epping, with a pilot program underway to support the Fever, Respiratory and Emergency departments currently dealing with COVID-19 patients. We hope to expand to the greater Melbourne area and to other frontline services.

Your donation pays the hospitality businesses and sees that the food is delivered to those who are working so hard for us on the frontline.

The business gets paid, the frontline gets fed.

All money collected is managed by our Trustee, McHenry Partners, and will go directly to the hospitality businesses minus a very small fee (less than 1%) for administration of the donations and payments of invoices to hospitality businesses. Other than that, FrontLine Meals is run purely by volunteers who are absorbing the remaining running costs.

Any surplus funds, on payment of all invoices and administration fees, at the end of the campaign will be donated to the Victorian Food Bank and Infinity Church Community Kitchen.
