The third annual South West Yoga Fest was set to take place at Solitaire Homestead March 20 - 22 2020. The festival brings together exceptional teachers of yoga, meditation and mindfulness from the South West, Perth, and all over Australia and beyond.
Founded and Presented by Heather Starr of Starr Light Yoga, the South West Yoga Fest aims to bring mindfulness and wellness to the South West and to yogis from near and far. Proceeds from the event have proudly been going to the Zenergy Yoga Program which provides free yoga and meditation classes to South West schools such as Cape Naturaliste College and Busselton Senior High School for both students and teachers, with the hopes in growing to include more schools going forward, and eventually the plan is to approach the Education Minister with the hope of getting Yoga and Meditation on the state curriculum.
The program has been running since 2018 and the feedback from the students, teachers and administration has been very positive. These classes make a big difference in the lives of the next generation.
Unfortunately, due to coronavirus concerns, and the Prime Minister's call for mass gatherings to be cancelled, the South West Yoga Fest team had to make the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Festival.
The South West Yoga Fest takes the safety and health of the West Australian community very seriously and have made the decision that hosting the event at this time is not in the best interest of its participants, presenters, volunteers, vendors and the general public.
In light of this decision this fundraising page has been created so that you can continue to support the cause by raising money to cover losses from cancelling the event, and still provide free yoga classes for South West Schools, and keeping the South West Yoga Fest Dream Alive for the future.
The South West Yoga Fest will still host an online silent auction and raffle with the donated prizes.
Any and all contributions, big and small are much appreciated. The festival will not be able to run in the future without the help of the community donations.
