Raising funds for: Yanti Turang
Australia is burning & it’s terrifying. Our firefighters are fighting what seems like an impossible task. Our friends are losing everything in minutes with fire traveling at rapid speeds. . One of our oldest closest mates Christy just lost her house. Christy and her partner Dave have been through hell. Dave is back on active duty as a firefighter after being out with a broken collar bone. We have put together a show next Thursday to raise much-needed funds for the Firefighters of Mallacoota & the rebuild for Christy & her community. It’s an amazing lineup, in a great bar for an urgent crisis. Tickets available in a link attached. It would be great to see you at the show, to talk it out, to share stories and to untie for one of the most terrifying disasters happening in our country. A note from Christy & Dave - "A few words on where we are at: Thanks again for all your wonderful support and for those who made it to the gigs at Major Toms, I hope you had a blast it was great to see photos of all your smiling faces. We have managed to secure ourselves some long term accommodation which we will move into next week. It is a unit - a big change from 26 acres of beautiful bush to a concrete driveway and no plants! However, it will allow us to settle back into life and give me space to start designing our new home. It actually has a spare room so a step up from the old digs and a place for you to visit! Dave returned to work last week in his paid fire fighting roll with fires continuing to impact the surrounding areas, including a few at Gipsy Point yesterday flaring up. The sky still has an eerie yellow glow and ash falling yesterday made me a little nervous - but we are safe. A little less smoky today and some swell beginning to build so I am hoping for a surf and some Vitamin Sea this afternoon which is bound to restore my energy. We are so looking forward to having our mob back with us here and all our friends and family to visit once the dust has settled. Until then, take care. Love Christy & Dave "
