On February 22, I will be attempting a solo crossing of the Rottnest Channel. This is a 19.7km ocean swim from Cottesloe Beach to Rottnest Island in Western Australia.
I am raising money for my best friend Tye Angland, who’s career was abruptly ended after a riding accident that left him quadriplegic in November 2018. All funds raised will contribute to Tye’s lifelong, ongoing care and rehabilitation as well as supporting his young family.
I have been inspired by the strength, determination and resilience that Tye has demonstrated since the accident. I am using this inspiration to complete this swim.
Multiple group 1-winning jockey Tye Angland returned to Hong Kong for a single meeting on November 25, 2018. It is here, Tye suffered a race fall resulting in devastating spinal injuries that have left him quadriplegic.
