Raising funds for: Need4Feed
Need for Feed is an initiative of the Packenham Lions Club in Victoria. Since December 2006, Graham Cockerell and his team have been raising funds for Fire, Drought and Flood relief and providing emergency fodder and transport to our farmers. In my small way to help raise funds, I will travel solo on foot around Victoria, covering 1,600kms in 42 days. In recent fundraisers for various organisations, I have run 9,100kms around Australia and raised $29,000. Hi everyone. Firstly, thank you all for your generous donations and support. Today was day 12 of my trek around Victoria where I arrived in Hopetoun. I’ve covered 439.53kms on foot (according to my Garmin), with over 530,000 steps. After the initial blisters and chaffing, the body has become conditioned to the rigours of this solo trek. More recently, I’ve somehow managed to get an infected bite - of what, I have no idea - but I’m sure a course of antibiotics will do the trick. There’s a few hard days ahead, but I’m confident I’ll push through any other problems encountered. Please feel free to pass on the word, so we can raise more funds and awareness for these very worthy causes. Cheers, Andre
