Flying Fox pup season is here!!! Many of you would have seen the heat stress event of 2018 which resulted in over 23,000 deaths, a third of the Spectacled Flying Fox population lost with in a week; followed by the 2019 starvation event where we lost many adult males. Due to this we are expecting many pups to be born prematurely, deformed and or dead. I am hoping we can obtain a humidicrib before the influx of orphans. $1,310.85 is what we require including postage for a humidicrib. The expenses could go on and on. FNQ Exotic Haven is privately run, we don’t get any government support and rely on community and our back pocket.
