About

Joker and the Thief Playing Card Co presents Cardistry Was Here.

Cardistry Was Here is a 20 minute documentary short film featuring cardists James Milaras and Sean Oulashin. It follows their mission and travels to Nepal in early 2019 to combat underground gambling.

In collaboration with Som Tamang of Friends of Himalayan Children, The Joker and the Thief Playing Card Co. brings the art of Cardistry (The Meditative and Creative Physical Manipulation of Playing Cards) to the children of Batase Village.

Premiered at the world renowned annual event Cardistry-Con, Joker and the Thief aims to not only change the perception of playing cards in rural Nepal for a new generation, but seeks to raise as much funding as possible to support the brilliant operations and projects of Friends of Himalayan Children.

WHO ARE FRIENDS OF HIMALAYAN CHILDREN?

- A completely non-for-profit charity that is legally registered in both Australia and Nepal and is completely volunteer based. This means that 100% of all donations go directly to projects that benefit the children, and relies heavily on volunteer work to travel to Nepal to help with various building projects.

- FHC rescues and protects children who are vulnerable to kidnapping for the international sex trade.

- They provide real opportunity for children who are disenfranchised by the Caste System.

- Provide shelter and safety for young children escaping domestic violence.

- FHC provides a safe place to live, certified education for up to 10 years of schooling, food and farming for all children in need of help.
