My name is Nori and my family has been through a tragedy I would wish on no other. It is hard to put pen to paper when talking about your own 18-month old baby girl going to heaven after drowning in a swimming pool. But that is what happened to us in 2013. Hanano meant the world to us and we still miss her very much. In life, she was a well behaved but a cheeky girl. She loved to pretend cooking, dancing and playing with her brother. She kissed me every morning when I was leaving home. She was very charming and adorable. This tragedy happened while I was on work assignment in Singapore having previously relocated to Australia from Japan. I hold Australia very dear to my heart. Hanano was an angel for us and we were pleased she could be an angel for others. After we learned she had suffered brain death, we did not hesitate to donate her organs. She became Singapore’s youngest ever solid organ donor. Her memory will be with us forever. The knowledge that her passing helped others leaves us very proud. Recently, I was inspired by the work of Transplant Australia and wanted to support them by raising money to help promote organ donation so that others, too, are inspired to increase our donation rates. Transplant Australia is a charity which supports transplant recipients and their families; people on the waiting list, donor families, living donors, healthcare professionals and all those touched by organ and tissue donation. During this campaign, I would like to raise awareness of organ donation and transplantation through sharing the story of Hanano. Full Story Of Hanano, please visit our web-page "MemoryOfHanano" below. http://memoryofhanano.org/home/ I am running similar campaigns in Japan and Singapore. Thank you.
