Vanessa’s helping hand

Just to give Vanessa’s wonderful supporters an update....

It is with great pain and sadness to have to give such an update but Vanessa has regrettably lost her fight and passed away in the early hours of Wednesday at Sir Charles Gardner Hospital. (17/04/19)

All monies raised so far will still go directly to Vanessa in the way of her estate to assist with the funeral expenses and towards her beautiful daughters needs as that was Vanessa’s last wishes that she had stated to me.

So in saying that on behalf of Vanessa I would like to take the opportunity to thank all her supporters for their donations and to ask that you continue to share this page and donate to assist in giving Vanessa the best farewell she deserves..


Vanessa is a much loved and valued member of the Pinjarra and carcoola community. Often going above and beyond to help anyone in need.

Unfortunately a few weeks ago after a trip to the emergency department in the middle of the night, followed by a 3 week stay in hospital, she got the awful diagnosis of cancer.

After receiving the initial blow of having a large tumour in one of her ovaries, she was told that she had to undergo immediate chemotherapy as there was fears of the cancer spreading to her stomach and bowel.

The past 3 days of cruelling chemo treatment have been extremely hard on Vanessa, but also the family.

With 4 girls of her own ranging in ages from 7-16 she has a very hard road ahead of her, and with nearly all her family over east, she needs as much support as we can give her.

So I’m asking the community now to get together and help chip in for this family that has always offered a helping hand to anyone when needed.

With the costs associated with cancer treatment and specialist appointments, it has left this lovely family on even harder times and what I’m hoping for is for everyone to chip in even a small amount each as every cent counts if we’re lucky Vanessa may be able to even take her beautiful daughters on holiday even if it’s just to mandurah for an overnight stay of pampering and rest. I’m sure we all could agree that they deserve that much.

Please find it in your hearts to help our Vanessa with this terrible burden she’s now having to face as reality.
