In 2018 Mary Mirtschin battled and recovered from hodgkins lymphoma. Lisa Fraser recently celebrated 10 years cancer free from breast cancer. Mary and Lisa, both cancer survivors are putting on a concert at the Latrobe Valley Performing Arts Centre, Traralgon. All profits from this concert will be donated to the Cancer Centre at Latrobe Regional Hospital. No Regrets Concert:
Talented local artists Mary Mirtschin and Lisa Fraser take you on a musical journey of opera and musical theatre, travelling through Mary’s personal and extraordinary events of 2018.
So often, we are too busy with life that we do not allow ourselves to follow our own dreams. Local singer Mary Mirtschin, has decided to pursue the longings of her heart. Mary is well known in the Latrobe Valley as a vocalist at community events and amateur musical theatre, performing lead roles in shows such as Pirates of Penzance and Phantom of the Opera. Mary is also the musical director of the Latrobe Chorale and teaches singing in schools and at her home studio “Singing Strong”. Join Mary as she fulfils her dream of singing on stage in concert. Mary will be accompanied by talented pianist Lisa Fraser. Lisa studied music performance at the University of Queensland and completed Postgraduate Education studies at Monash University. Lisa has previously been a member of The Melbourne Chorale, and is presently accompanist for the West Gippsland Chorale. Lisa is a tutor and choral director at St. Paul’s Anglican Grammar School Warragul and continues to work as a freelance accompanist for concerts, exams and auditions for tertiary institutions.
You are invited on a musical journey of opera and musical theatre as Mary tells her story of a very challenging year in 2018, giving a message of hope and encouragement to live a life with no regrets.
