Walk a While’s Creative Technology Centre in the remote community of Haasts Bluff, in the Northern Territory is a reality.

Walk a While has recently signed the lease and taken possession of a building that provides a hub from which it will train and equip the youth of the region with skills and tools in the creative arts to improve their future employment opportunities. Centre Managers, Kathy & Andy have been appointed and are already in residence. Youth from Haasts Bluff and neighbouring communities are participating in a music program as we speak.

However, the building desperately needs a makeover – to be made fit for purpose. You can see from the photos there are no desks, shelves, benchtops, cupboards or chairs. The computer room needs sealing and dust proofing. Recreational areas need a dining table, chairs and sofas.

With needs for building materials and tools for repairs and maintenance the list is extensive.
