The Harry Potter films and movies have been a source of joy and inspiration for a generation of fans, young and old alike. Through the series’ message of love, compassion, and bravery, the series taught us to stand tall, and fight for what we believe is right. For this reason, many of our members have chosen to boycott the newest film in JK Rowling’s Wizarding World, Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald.
We are unable and unwilling to put our money behind an alleged abuser, and a while we respect the right of others to view the film, we will instead be putting our money towards a cause that needs it, and continuing to support survivors of domestic violence.
We ask our members to donate $20 that they would otherwise have spent on seeing the film.

Emerge is the only independent specialist domestic violence service in the southern metro region. Emerge has provided crisis accommodation and support to women and children who have experienced domestic violence since 1975 and art therapy to children affected by domestic violence since 2009.

White Ribbon Australia is a unique male-led primary prevention organisation that works to stop men's violence against women by changing the attitudes and behaviours that allow it to occur. White Ribbon recognises the prevalence and damaging impact of violence against women in our community.
