My brother Andrew and I are climbing up Mt Kilimanjaro, leaving Australia on January 1st. It will take us a week and it is a tough climb requiring us to adjust to altitude. I have both patients and friends who have died and/or presently suffering from pancreatic cancer. It has one of the worst survival rates of all cancers, only 7% survive five years. We need to have research to find a cure and a screening tool to prevent the spread of the disease. It is usually detected when it has already fatally spread. It can cause significant and terrible pain for the afflicted, with very limited treatment options. I am hoping we can raise money for research to try and find a cure.
