The month of October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and this year I have decided to raise funds and cut & donate my hair. My reason, why not!
Facilitating a few insurance claims in my career as a Financial Planner is certainly challenging and it never gets easier. Cancer has taken way too many lives and has recently taken someone close to me. If my hair can help brighten someone's day and a pledge takes us one step further in the fight against cancer, I would love to.
Although Breast Cancer is the most commonly diagnosed cancer in Australia, there is 91% chance of surviving which has tremendously improved over the years. To help further enhance treatment and improve survival rate, I have chosen to raise and donate all funds to Breast Cancer Research Centre WA.
I have also chosen to donate my hair to Pantene Beautiful Lengths. All my adult life, I have always had long hair, but I have decided to give back and share my hair to someone who has lost theirs. Losing hair is one of the most obvious side effect of chemotherapy and Pantene Beautiful Lengths help women feel like themselves again by providing free real - hair wigs.
After 12 months of no hair color, consciously caring for my hair, lots of shampoo and conditioner, taking 20 mins to dry, it's time to chop it off! I am sure my partner will be glad to have less hair in our bathroom floor. I hope that you dig deep and help raise money for a truly worthy cause.
