I am a graduate student paramedic and I will be travelling to Vanuatu in September/October, and volunteering for 5 weeks with ProMedical VEMSA. ProMedical are a not-for-profit organisation that relies on donations and sponsors to provides international-standard emergency prehospital care, aeromedical evacuation and first aid training. Funds will go directly towards helping ProMedical deliver healthcare and educational services within the community, including the purchase of equipment, operational and medical supplies. Having completed my degree and placement with the Ambulance Victoria Service, where supplies of basic equipment such as ECG dots, ECG paper, defibrillation pads and cannulation equipment are endless, I am hoping to be able to raise money for the purchase of single use sterile equipment which can be used to deliver quality emergency healthcare in the Port Vila community.
