Meet Toby,
Toby McGrath is my beautiful 13 year old nephew who is on the Austim spectrum. Toby is non verbal, but he uses a program on his iPad to communicate and this also is helping him with his verbal speech. Seeing him grow up has been something special, and obviously very challenging for my brother and sister in law. The both of them surround Toby with love, support and patience to help guide him through this difficult world. All of us in the family think Toby is an absolute legend and we all love him for who he is. This is where Irabina come in, these guys are helping Toby and his parents prepare for his Teenage years, giving them great support growing forward.
So, I've decided to walk the 98 Kilometres along the Kokoda Track from the 29th of October to the 5th of November with Getaway Trekking. Ive wanted to do this for about ten years, I was supposed to do it before I was thirty. This trek is going to be very physically and mentally challenging. To help push me along each day and to give me a further sense of purpose, I've decide to support a very important charity which is Irabina Autism Services. Lets help Irabina help Toby and his parents. Every little bit counts.
This is a brief overview of the things Irabina Provide
Irabina Autism Services specialises in Early Intervention programs and services for children and adolescents with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). We provide specialist services to help every young person who has been diagnosed with ASD find their own success and independence.
Our vision is to transform the lives of families and young people facing the challenges of ASD.
Founded in 1970 by two families, Irabina is committed to supporting the whole family. As well as supporting young people with ASD, our services are tailored to support parents, carers, siblings and grandparents. We also have a range of services designed for childcare providers, teachers and even football coaches, to make sure they have the right tools to support the development of young people.
