Drew and Sahar set out on a life's dream to bring their music to people all over Australia. Unfortunately, Drew's heart had another idea. They left Sydney for Longreach, Queensland on July 22 and then after a very long drive on July 30th Drew had a heart attack. He said, the pain in his chest along with the tingling in his left arm told him he was in trouble. After a short stay in Longreach Hospital, where he was stablized, and then flown to Brisbane via the Royal Flying Doctors Service. Drew was taken into surgery where he had a stent placed in an artery that was close to 80% occluded.
To say that their plans were thwarted is not anywhere near correct. They kinda went out on a song and a prayer, musos on the road kinda thing, so a heart attack and all that goes with that, have depleted their funds. Thing is, the Universe wasn't done challenging this pair. Just a few days ago, Sahar's father was hospitalised and well, you can imagine her pain.
Drew is one of the most giving people I know. He volunteers his time to play for the Ronald MacDonald House here in Sydney, he is a friend that goes above and beyond the call of duty, and a supportive member of the music and arts community.
Sahar is an accomplished musician herself, as well as a word artist, poet, and humanitarian activist. She fights for so many that go without, now she and Drew need us.
It's not a huge amount to raise. Just $3000.00 I know, that if you have read this far you grasp the urgency in which Drew needs to be able to be home in his own space and how Sahar desperately needs to get home to see her father.
The money you donate today, will go towards their driving trip home from Longreach to Sydney. Whatever amount you can contribute would be amazing! I know both Drew and Sahar will be incredibly grateful. :)
Thank you for showing two beautiful human beings that kindness and compassion aren't dead on this planet. We are all a part of the one. Thank you for your kindness. Thank you for your generosity. Thank you for helping me to bring my friends home safely.
I wish you both well. Everyone needs a leg up every now and then.
