Until September Last year, I had lived in the Gili islands for 3 years, working as a diving instructor and the place is like my second home. I became friends with a lot of locals, who all welcomed me in like I was a part of there family. So far I have unfortunately lost 2 friends and 3 other are still missing. Most roads in and out of the Northern Regency have collapsed from the eathquake and Landslides, so many people are still without aid. Houses and complete villages have been totally wiped out and more damage continues as the earthquakes keep happening, all between 6.2-7.0 on the ricter scale. My close friends Victor Cidomo Ramos, Greg Pow, Jill van Ottelen, Brendan Muir and John Heike, who all still live there, are on the ground trying to get aid where people need it most. I have the bank details for all and have been deviding money between them. So far I have managed to send over approximately $1500, which has bought massive amounts of food and water. I have created a crowd funding page, whhich has a further $2000, but that amount is not available for another 5 weeks.
