SO WHAT'S THE HISTORY HERE? Mongolia, 8 days of challenges, 8 dirt bikes, 8 idiots, 1 winner, 1 charity. The Fermented Fools are riding across Mongolia on dirt bikes for charity. Each member of the team pays for their own trip plus an entry fee which, combined with your donation will be donated to the winner's charity of choice at the end of the event. The idea began in just 2017 with an epic adventure across South America riding from what Google Maps told us were the 4 most dangerous roads across the Andes. Turned out Google knows its stuff! The plan (a loose term) was to do the 2100 KM in 7 days. We ended up doing 3800 KM instead, and things got a little weird. When 2018 came around and the idea of another epic adventure reared its ugly head there was a lot more interest than 2017. The stories, injuries, and clips had volunteering hands reaching for the sky. This was a good thing but with more people came more overhead and that’s when the hands went back down again. Turns out that with a bit of hustle you can get some great support from local companies and do things on the cheap. This meant a great deal for our hand waving participants. But some kind of a sacrifice needs to be made. “Let’s all put an extra bit on money in a pot and donate it to a charity…Love it we all said. “But which charity?”... this was the big question, HOW THE DONATIONS WORK To decide we put a little twist on this years' adventure. And it involves you too. We will set a series of challenges, some organised, some impromptu. Each challenge will have set points, the points will be tallied up along the week. The week's winner will take the combined pot (our donations and yours) and donate to the cause they have chosen...yep that his prize, Karma! 100% of all money raised will go to the charity the winner selects. We have funded the trip ourselves and we will all be making an extra $300 contribution on top of the trip expenses for that chosen charity We will be uploading photos, videos and live streams of the antics as we go.
