On the 28th of January, 2018, one of our school students, 8 year old Lochlan Howcroft, was diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukaemia. Lochie's family were told a few days later that the genetic make-up of his Leukaemia was in fact the very rare Philadelphia Chromosome. Only 2% of children are diagnosed with this specific type of aggressive Leukaemia, which requires an extensive treatment plan.
Lochie lives with his mum Cass, dad Andy and brother Aidan, who only started school this year.
At St Bernadette's Primary School we are holding a Colour Run "Light the Way for Lochie" and all money raised by our school community will go to the Howcroft family to ease the load on Lochie's treatment journey.
