In Memory of Wes Milne, help us rebuild the SE Animal Welfare League

Wesley Milne is remembered for many things, his unique and unmatched sense of humour, genuine kindness and compassion, and his absolute love for animals.

Whether he was down the beach with his lab Avie or letting his rescue cow Maverick inside, he was never happier than when he was with animals.

Wes' visits to the Animal Welfare League were so frequent, and his donations so generous that the staff knew they'd need to break out the trolleys whenever they saw him coming.

Our local shelter has been providing a safe haven for homeless animals for more than 30 years, and its facilities are much in need of an upgrade. Relying solely on donations, The Rebuild the League project has been moving slowly due to financial struggles.

Knowing the shelter's plans to rebuild, Wes had generously offered to donate his carpentry skills once the project got underway.

We lost our dear friend 12 months ago, yet Wesley is still inspiring help for the cause he was so passionate about.

A $5500 donation will be a massive help to the rebuild, improving the living conditions of homeless animals, and granting us the naming rights to a section of the new facility.

This wing will be named in memory of Wes so that he can forever watch over the animals he loved so dearly.
