In September 2019 I am aiming to fulfil my ultimate swimming goal of swimming the English Channel (England to France). After losing my cousin Edward in 2016 I have experienced first hand the devastating effects suicide has on families and friends alike. I am hoping to be able to achieve my childhood dream and also be able to raise funds for an important and worthy cause at the same time.

On Wednesday 08/05/19 I completed my 6 hour qualifying swim. Along with my support crew, we departed Clifton Beach at 0825 hours and headed around to Cremorne and Towards Lauderdale. The water was 14.3 degrees, colder than what the channel will be in September. I've been blown away by the support and well wishes in the past week, words cannot express how much this means to me. The journey onward continues. Jayde

The water in Hobart is now approximately 15.6 degrees and I am planning a qualifying swim for hopefully a couple of weeks time. This entails a 6 hour (minimum) swim in 15 degree water (or less). With all my paperwork submitted to the Channel Swim Association this is my final box to tick in order to be able to line up on the beach in Dover this September. Watch this space, with the help of my awesome patrol team from Clifton Beach SLSC we are looking at a Clifton Beach to White Beach (Nubeena) crossing (24 km) on either the 26th or 27th of April. As always thank you to the awesome group of swimmers and supporters at Sandy Bay Swimming Club and the Tomatoes Masters/Ocean swimming group for keeping me inspired and motivated in training.
