Today, we need your help to continue our growth, because we know there is a demand. Reactions to recent initiatives have been overwhelming. The new Beginners’ Yiddish class in Brunswick is full, and with additional resources we could easily fill more. We asked whether you would be interested in a bubbes-zaydes un ayniklekhgroup – forging another link in the golden chain of Jewish tradition and history – and the positive replies were abundant. At the moment however, we lack the resources to deliver on all these fabulous ideas.
Our plans include new programs like Yiddish Tog – a day for the whole community to immerse itself in, and learn about mameloshen– cooking, storytelling, singing workshops and more. And it is only through innovative, creative initiatives that we will attract a wider community of people to become engaged with Jewish life and culture – now and into the future.
